We are seeking a highly experienced and technically capable Imaging Sales Manager to join the development and sales of advanced diagnostic imaging solutions in Ethiopia, with a primary focus on MRI and CT systems. This is a senior consultative sales position requiring a strong combination of commercial capability, clinical understanding, technical knowledge, and relationship management.
The successful candidate will be expected to understand the customer's clinical and operational requirements, translate them into the appropriate imaging solution, and manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through technical evaluation, tendering and negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Involvement in the MRI and CT sales pipeline across Ethiopia.
Identify new projects and opportunities within private hospitals, public institutions, diagnostic centers, and healthcare groups.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital owners, senior management, radiologists, clinicians, biomedical engineers, procurement departments, and other key decision-makers.
Prepare account strategies and sales plans for major healthcare institutions.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and continuously monitor the competitive landscape.
Clinical & Application Knowledge
The candidate must demonstrate strong clinical understanding of MRI and CT applications and workflows.
This should include familiarity with:
Neurology imaging
Cardiac imaging
Oncology imaging
Patient workflow and examination optimization
The Sales Manager must be capable of conducting professional discussions with radiologists and clinicians and clearly explaining the clinical value of different technologies and system configurations.
Technical & Engineering Understanding
Strong technical understanding of MRI and CT systems is required.
The candidate should understand key technologies and system architecture, including:
MRI - Magnet technology, Gradient performance, Coils and coil technology
CT - Detector technology, X-ray tube and generator, Slice configuration and detector coverage
The candidate should also understand general infrastructure requirements including electrical supply, UPS, HVAC, cooling, equipment-room requirements, shielding, and basic site-planning considerations.
Competitive Intelligence
Maintain detailed knowledge of the major imaging manufacturers and competing platforms.The Sales Manager should be capable of conducting detailed competitive comparisons covering technical specifications, clinical performance, workflow, service considerations, lifecycle costs, and overall customer value.
Commercial Responsibilities
The Sales Manager will be expected to understand the commercial implications of equipment configuration by effectively demonstrating the clinical and technical value of the proposed solution.
Project Coordination
The responsibility of the Sales Manager does not end with the purchase order.The candidate will coordinate internally withall of the departments (Project management / service engineering / applications specialists / logistics / finance). to support successful delivery, installation, commissioning, training, and customer handover.
Required Profile
Minimum 3 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, medical equipment, radiology, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
Proven experience with MRI and/or CT systems.
Strong clinical understanding of diagnostic imaging.
Strong technical and engineering understanding of imaging systems.
Experience with technical tenders and equipment specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and technical professionals.
Strong commercial mindset and ability to manage complex capital-equipment sales.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout Ethiopia when required.
Core Principle
This position is not intended to be a traditional equipment sales role.
The Imaging Sales Manager must act as a trusted imaging consultant, capable of understanding the customer's clinical requirements, evaluating the technical environment, designing the appropriate solution, and demonstrating why the proposed system provides superior clinical and commercial value.
